About the Artist

Graduated In 1999, gained a BA in Textiles and Ceramics at Liverpool Hope University.

Elaine kept her painting practice and started exhibiting in Cheshire and Liverpool art galleries.

Work as a part time artist came to a standstill in early 2009 to 2010 as she took full time care of her daughter who was being treated for Leukeamia.

After her daughter got the all clear, Elaine went back to practicing painting which changed dramatically in style and subjects, she then became a member of The Royal Cambrian Academy in Conwy, Wales, where Elaine regularly exhibit.

In 2017 Elaine was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa.  This is a loss of peripheral vision.

Elaine now works differently using her everyday surroundings and memories.  Elaine relies on her central vision and other senses to continue her painting practice.

At present, Elaine is concentrating on working with a new configured egg tempera medium as well as painting with oils.

The egg tempera medium has given her an insight and exploration on painting itself and gives her a new way of ‘seeing’.

Elaine has since exhibited at The Royal Portrait Society, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The ING Discerning Eye and Sotheby's with the award winning arts organisation, Outside in.
